Grupo União Sport is in mourning for the death of young player Madalena Galego, athlete of the club's senior women's team, victim of a road accident. The news was released by the club itself, which deeply lamented the loss of one of its athletes.
In addition to representing Grupo União Sport, Madalena Galego had played for other clubs in the Alentejo throughout her sporting career, being a recognized presence in women's football in the region. The young woman was described by the club as a dedicated athlete.
The club published a message of condolence to her family, friends, and teammates, expressing that "words fail us to express the pain we feel". Grupo União Sport also extended a hug of "deep affection and solidarity", concluding with the words: "You will always be one of us. Rest in peace."
The Alentejo sporting community is thus marked by the premature loss of the young athlete, at a time of great sorrow for all those who shared the journey with her, both on and off the pitches.
