The fourth day of Rock in Rio, during the September 7th holiday weekend, had Elton John as the headliner of the night. The weather was cold, with light rain and a wind chill of 18°C. The British artist took the festival stage on his farewell tour.
The fans embraced the event wearing the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball uniform, emulating an iconic outfit used by Elton John in 1975, when he performed at the team's stadium in Los Angeles. The artist returned to the same stage in 2022, during his farewell tour.
Among the spectators was Catuninho de Moraes, from Aracaju, Sergipe, 27 years old. He lost his mother this year and decided to attend the festival in her honor, as she was the one who introduced him to Elton John's music. The young man spent R$ 300 on customizing the outfit for the occasion and said he wanted the experience of seeing him up close.
Catuninho was also in Rio in 2024 to attend Madonna's show at Copacabana. He commented that these big names are getting older and that one must take advantage while it's still possible.
