Thousands will be without power: find out which Portuguese localities will be 'in the dark' on these dates

Postal do Algarve7 September 2026 at 19:40

Thousands of residents in the Sintra municipality may be affected by scheduled power outages in the coming days. According to E-REDES, the distributor responsible for the electrical grid, the work is scheduled between Tuesday and Friday, with cuts of approximately one hour, between 05:00 and 06:00.

On Tuesday, the parish of Colares is the first affected, with 21 postal codes covered by the intervention. Colares appears again on Thursday, this time with nine postal codes identified.

On Wednesday, the work is mostly concentrated in Pêro Pinheiro, where 16 postal codes are covered, and also in São João das Lampas, with postal code 2705-675 indicated by E-REDES. On Friday, Algueirão-Mem Martins will be without power, with eight postal codes affected.

E-REDES explains that these interruptions are necessary to carry out maintenance work, repairs, connections or operations on the distribution network infrastructure. The distributor recommends that all installations be considered permanently live, as the supply may be restored earlier. Anyone wishing to confirm if their area is covered can check the scheduled interruptions section on the E-REDES website.
