Santander successfully concluded a bond issuance worth 500 million euros. The covered debt was placed with an interest rate of 3.375%, representing the cost that the bank will have to pay to investors who subscribed to these securities.
Demand for this bond issuance significantly exceeded the available supply. Investor interest was more than four times higher than the total amount placed, which demonstrates strong demand for the Spanish bank's debt instrument.
The issued securities have a maturity date set for 2029, that is, a term of five years until their maturity. This type of bond is classified as covered debt, which normally confers greater security to investors due to the protection of the underlying assets.
The high level of demand recorded reflects investors' confidence in Santander's credit quality and the attractive conditions of the offer. The issuance was well received by the markets, allowing the bank to raise financing on favorable terms.
