A Spanish truck driver with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, malignant arterial hypertension, and grade 3 obesity had the recognition of absolute permanent disability refused, in a case decided by the Spanish Supreme Court. The worker requires hemodialysis three times a week, for four hours and 15 minutes per session, and had already been recognized as having total permanent disability for his habitual profession as a truck driver by the Spanish National Social Security Institute in July 2022.
