The Barcelos City Council approved, in an extraordinary meeting held on a Monday, the opening of the procedure for the allocation of 36 housing units in an affordable rental regime, with reduced rent. This decision aims to provide housing at more affordable costs for the citizens.

Within the social area, the municipal Executive also approved housing rental support for several applicants. These supports are intended for families that need assistance to cope with housing expenses.

Additionally, social tariffs for urban waste were approved for families in situations of economic hardship. This measure complements the set of social initiatives of the council to support the most vulnerable citizens of the municipality.
