The Prainha Bathing Area, in Angra do Heroísmo, hosted on September 5th the VII Intermunicipal Games of Terceira Island and the XXI Municipal Games of Angra do Heroísmo, bringing together representatives from 11 parishes in an event dedicated to physical activity, fun, fellowship and team spirit. The participating teams came from Fontinhas, Lajes, Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Porto Martins, Posto Santo, Raminho, Santa Cruz, São Bento, Serreta, Vila de São Mateus and Vila do Porto Judeu.
The activities, carried out on the beach and adapted to the surrounding space, consisted of five games and challenges of a leisure and sports nature, which tested the teamwork, coordination, creativity and spirit of mutual support of the participants.
In the XXI Municipal Games of Angra do Heroísmo, Vila do Porto Judeu took first place, followed by Posto Santo and Vila de São Mateus. In the VII Intermunicipal Games, Vila do Porto Judeu won again in first place, with Santa Cruz in second and Posto Santo in third. The Fair Play Award was given to the Fontinhas team.
The Intermunicipal Games result from a partnership between the Municipalities of Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória, with the 2025 edition having taken place under the responsibility of the municipality of Praia da Vitória and the 2026 edition returning to the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo. The event aims to promote physical activity, fellowship and closeness between the parishes of the two municipalities, presenting itself as a space for sharing and valuing the team spirit and participation.
