The Municipal Library of Lagoa will organize a meeting with Algarve author NERO on October 8 at 6 PM. The presentation will be by Esmeralda Lopes Alves.
NERO is the pseudonym of Roberto Simões, poet, writer and teacher born in southern Portugal in 1987. He holds a degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon and completed his teacher training in Portuguese at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of NOVA University of Lisbon, where he received the distinction of "Best Teacher".
He is the author of the works Oceano — O Reino das Águas, Telúria and Akbar — Lunário Poético duma Alma ainda Árabe, with the latter two being part of the "Spirit Trilogy". His poetry crosses mythical, ecological, autobiographical and spiritual references, exploring the relationship between the human, the sacred and nature.
In 2025, NERO represented Portugal at the 1st Cinema and Literature Festival of Tétouan, in Morocco, and in 2026 participated in literary and artistic meetings in Spain.
