The IGHS Group, based in Coimbra, has permanently joined the investment committee of the One Healthcare Fund, a fund dedicated to the health sector integrated within Oman's sovereign investment architecture. The invitation, directed by the Oman Brunei Investment Company (OBIC), also covers strategic consulting functions for the fund, making the Portuguese group one of the reference partners of one of the main sovereign health investment instruments in the Gulf region.
The invitation represents recognition of the skills developed by the group over more than ten years in international projects, particularly in Oman, in the design, management and operation of hospitals, and in the pharmaceutical sector. Among the reference projects are the Oman International Hospital, fully designed and managed by Idealmed GHS, and the internationalization of InnovCell Therapeutics, a company in which the Group holds a stake and which is present in several European and Asian markets. The group has also provided consulting services to international entities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, China and Hong Kong.
The chairman of the IGHS Group, José Alexandre Cunha, highlighted that Oman is undergoing profound modernization with a clear vision of economic diversification and attraction of international investment. The group intends to continue to valorize its Portuguese origin and its roots in Coimbra, establishing bridges with Portuguese institutions from the academic, scientific, clinical, technological and business sectors, and creating new internationalization opportunities for national entities.
José Alexandre Cunha also revealed that new projects are being prepared to be announced in 2026, particularly highlighting opportunities for the internationalization of Portuguese higher education institutions in a model that he considers differentiating. The IGHS Group is a business group dedicated to the development, management and operation of health projects internationally.
