Benfica officially confirmed the departure of six athletes from the women's water polo team, in a restructuring of the squad for the new sporting season. Among the most significant departures is Mariana Sousa, who ended a multi-year connection to the club since the age of thirteen, with an impressive record of seven National Championships, seven Portuguese Cups and seven Super Cups, and Carlota Milheiro, who left the red and white emblem after four seasons full of conquests, including four National Championships, four Portuguese Cups and four Super Cups. The restructuring also includes the departures of Matilde Ribeiro and Francisca Ribeiro, who had been at the club for three seasons and had been loaned to Cascais Waterpolo, among other members of the sextet leaving the Clube da Luz.
