The parish of Benfica do Ribatejo welcomes on Saturday, September 12, another edition of its Folklore Festival, which takes place at Largo Dr. Moita, in Cortiçóis. The event starts at 9:00 PM with a formal ceremony, followed by the performances of the participating groups at 9:30 PM. The organization is in charge of the Folklore Ranch of Benfica do Ribatejo, the hosting group that ensures local representation.
The festival lineup includes five groups from different regions of the country: the Folklore Group of Casa do Povo de Fermentões, from Guimarães, the Ethnographic Ranch of Foros de Salvaterra, from Salvaterra de Magos, the Folklore Ranch of Cabeça Veada, from Porto de Mós, and the Pauliteiros de Sendim, from Miranda do Douro.
The festival promotes the meeting between different traditions and manifestations of Portuguese folklore, providing an evening dedicated to music, dance, and popular culture. The event has free admission.
