The circulation of messages sent from the address [email protected] was detected, in which the sender was improperly impersonating the president of the Câmara Municipal de Viana do Castelo. The municipality clarified that this address is fake and has no connection to the president.
The municipality advised all who receive messages from this address, or others with similar content, not to reply or open links or attachments. The recommendation is to delete the message and report it as fraud.
In the previous week, a similar situation involving the bishop of Viana do Castelo had been detected. Messages were sent from the address [email protected], in which someone was impersonating the bishop. The Diocese of Viana do Castelo clarified that the address is fake and has no connection to the Diocese or its Bishop.
