A First Alert Dispatch was issued for a rural fire in the Castelo Branco and Fundão area. The fire originated in vegetation (scrubland) and affected several localities, namely Fundão, Valverde, Donas, Aldeia de Joanes and Aldeia Nova do Cabo.
The firefighting operations involved 17 personnel on the ground, supported by 5 ground resources. No aerial resources were required to combat the flames.
The First Alert Dispatch is a coordination mechanism that allows the mobilization of additional resources to respond to Civil Protection Emergencies, being activated when the situation requires a coordinated response from multiple entities.
