Armamar hosts on October 3rd the trail and walking event called "Rota da Maçã de Montanha" (Mountain Apple Route), integrated into the Apple Fair program, one of the municipality's main events. The initiative starts at 3:00 PM and invites participants to traverse the trails and orchards of Armamar during the harvest season.
The sports program includes three routes: a 20-kilometre trail with medium to high difficulty, a short 12-kilometre trail of medium difficulty, and an eight-kilometre walk intended for participants of different paces.
The race aims to combine sports practice with the discovery of the landscapes and agricultural activity that characterize the territory of Armamar, known as the "Capital of Mountain Apple." At the end of the races, a social dinner is planned as part of the Apple Fair festivities, where participants can also learn about the local agricultural and gastronomic offerings, handicrafts, and cultural entertainment of the event.
