Mirandela hosts next Sunday, September 13, the XIV Tua Crossing, for the 14th consecutive year. The event is part of the XIX National Open Water Circuit 2025-2026, establishing itself as a reference event in the national sporting calendar for open water swimming.
The competition includes three distinct events: a 400-meter introductory distance at 10:00 AM, a 1500-meter race at 10:30 AM, and the main 3000-meter distance for elite and masters athletes, with the start scheduled for 11:15 AM. The 3000-meter race counts toward the National Open Water Circuit and is expected to attract athletes and teams from different parts of the country.
The Tua River, through the mirror of water in Mirandela, has hosted several national competitions, including canoeing events, reinforcing its role as a reference space for sports practice in the region.
