CDS-Madeira insists on defending minimum salary of 1,050 euros and strengthening the middle class

SAPO Notícias7 September 2026 at 14:08

CDS-PP Madeira defended this Monday, during the traditional Festa dos Romeiros at Chão dos Louros, an increase in the minimum wage to 1,050 euros next year, as well as the growth of average wages above the inflation rate. This event marks the start of the new political year of the centrists in the region every year.

The proposals were presented by the party leader, José Manuel Rodrigues, who was at the center of political attention, as would be expected at an event of this nature. The party thus insists on defending measures aimed at strengthening the Madeiran middle class.

The Festa dos Romeiros is a traditional event that symbolizes the restart of CDS-Madeira's political activity for each new year, bringing together the main officials and supporters of the party in the autonomous region.
