Jaguar Land Rover will proceed with cutting 4,000 jobs over the next two years. This decision comes as part of a restructuring plan for the British automotive company.
The layoffs will happen mainly through voluntary redundancies, which means the company will offer workers the possibility of leaving their positions of their own accord, with associated compensations.
Jaguar Land Rover employs approximately 30,000 workers in the United Kingdom, which represents the vast majority of its workforce. In total, the company has more than 40,000 employees globally.
This cut represents approximately 10% of the company's total workforce, at a time when the automotive industry faces significant challenges, including the transition to electric vehicles and decreased demand in some markets.
