The vimaranense Luís Alves became a five-time national karting champion at age 20, confirming the title with an impeccable performance in the final race of the season. After winning the Pre-Final and scoring decisive points for the championship standings, Luís Alves once again prevailed in the Final, where he secured another victory and also set the fastest lap of the race.
With this result, the driver achieves his fifth national championship title of his career, becoming one of the few Portuguese drivers to win national championships in four different categories.
The success journey began in the Cadet category in 2015, followed by the Juvenile titles in 2016 and 2017, and Junior in 2019. In 2026, he now adds the KZ2 national championship to his resume, one of the most demanding and competitive categories in national karting.
In addition to the five national titles, Luís Alves also has two Portuguese Cups and a Rotax Trophy, reinforcing a resume that places him among the most prominent names in the sport in Portugal.
