Twelve cities in Rio Grande do Sul recorded negative temperatures this Monday (7th). The lowest temperature was in Cambará do Sul, in the Serra Gaúcha, with -0.7°C. Other recorded temperatures were in Bom Jesus, with -3.8°C, and Vacaria, with -3.2°C. Thermometers also dropped below zero in São José dos Ausentes, Quaraí, São Francisco de Paula, Caxias do Sul, Ajuricaba, Lagoa Vermelha, Hulha Negra, Casca, and Santa Bárbara do Sul.
In Porto Alegre, the temperature at the time was 11°C, with the sky quite cloudy. The September 7th parade, which would begin at 10am, would take place under cold and cloudy skies.
This Sunday (6th), it snowed in São José dos Ausentes, in the highlands. Snowflakes fell during the afternoon in the Monte Negro Canyon region, at 1,403 meters of altitude. Snow was also confirmed in the neighboring municipality of Cambará do Sul.
