A woman was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head at her home this Sunday (6) in Embu das Artes, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. Larissa Cruz Morata, 29, was found lying in the bathroom of her residence when discovered. Her husband, Vinícius, a military police officer, was at the home when the police arrived. A weapon belonging to the husband was found near the body.
When paramedics from Samu arrived at the scene around 11am, they already confirmed Larissa's death. Vinícius told the police that his wife had committed suicide. The case was referred to the Civil Police of Embu, where family members from both sides gave testimony about what happened.
A sister of Vinícius revealed that she had visited the couple's home a few hours before the death and that the couple had an argument that day about ending the relationship. She confirmed her brother's version about the fight, according to police information.
Larissa's relatives contested the husband's version about the suicide. They stated that she never showed depressive or suicidal tendencies, questioning the narrative presented by Vinícius. The case remains under investigation by the Civil Police.
