The new digital passport control system has started operating and, after 24 hours, is working without issues. The system was implemented at the country's main airports to modernize the passenger document verification process.
The airports covered by the new technology are Porto, Lisbon, and Faro. These three airports are the busiest in Portugal, representing the majority of the country's international air traffic.
