Doctor Gassi Paola de Souza Maria, 37 years old, was found dead inside the apartment where she lived, in Maringá, in Northern Paraná, on Saturday night. She worked at UBS Nova Aliança and was the mother of a baby. The case is being initially investigated as feminicide.
The victim had at least four stab wounds, according to preliminary information, and the suspicion is that she was killed with stab wounds. The woman's partner is the main suspect in the investigation.
The baby was next to the body when police entered the residence. Residents in the area near Itororó Avenue, in Bosque 2, called the Military Police after hearing the child crying for an extended period without anyone answering at the apartment. Teams from Samu and the Fire Department were also called.
