The judge of the National Court María Tardón declared the competence of this specialized court to investigate the massive irregular entry into Ceuta from Morocco on July 30 and 31. The magistrate considered that the events constitute a "serious attack against the territorial integrity of Spain" that affects the peace and independence of the State.
This decision implies that the facts are classified as crimes within the competence of the National Court, that is, crimes of special gravity that affect the fundamental interests of the Spanish State.
Furthermore, the judge also classified the facts as crimes against the rights of foreign citizens, in connection with negligent homicide offenses and criminal organization.
María Tardón is the magistrate responsible for conducting this investigation that seeks to clarify the circumstances of the massive entry of people through the southern Spanish border.
