José Mourinho talked about his departure from Benfica in an interview with UEFA, admitting that he was convinced that the red club was building something important. The Portuguese coach, known as the Special One, revealed his state of mind during the period he coached the eagles team at the Estádio da Luz. At the time, Mourinho believed in the sporting project being developed at Benfica, feeling that they could achieve great results. However, the coach ended up accepting Real Madrid's proposal, leaving behind the project he said he was building in Lisbon. Mourinho justified his decision with a phrase that became famous: "But Real Madrid is Real Madrid," thus acknowledging the magnitude and prestige of the Spanish club as a decisive factor in his professional choice.
