PJ seized 15 million in assets related to two drug trafficking cases

Expresso7 September 2026 at 13:26

The Judicial Police seized a total of 15 million euros in assets related to two drug trafficking cases. This operation represents one of the largest asset seizures in this type of criminal investigation in Portugal.

In one of the cases, which is still under investigation, some of the five defendants are in preventive custody. This case involves a drug trafficking network that has been under investigation for some time.

As part of this same case, 93 plots of land and houses were seized, with a value exceeding 12 million euros. In addition to these properties, the authorities also seized financial products, company shares and vehicles.

The authorities emphasize that the purpose of these seizures is to ensure that profits obtained through criminal activity are confiscated, preventing the defendants from benefiting from the financial resources derived from drug trafficking.
