Civil protection authorities arrived at the scene of a rural fire in the area of Três Obras, in the municipality of Carregal do Sal, district of Viseu, near the locality of Cabanas de Viriato. The fire originated in vegetation (scrubland) and mobilized firefighting resources to the designated area called the Theatre of Operations.
The response deployment consists of five personnel on the ground, supported by one ground vehicle. No aerial resources were dispatched for this occurrence. Authorities confirmed arrival at the scene, indicating that firefighting operations were underway.
The incident occurred in the district of Viseu, a region that frequently faces rural fire episodes, especially during the months of highest fire risk in Portugal. The causes of the fire have not yet been specified at this early stage of the response.
