WhatsApp Prepares to Abandon Millions of Android Mobile Phones

WhatsApp will stop working on millions of Android mobile phones starting Tuesday, September 8th. The application will only be compatible with devices that have at least version 6 of Google's operating system installed.

This change is part of the messaging platform's strategy to abandon older versions of mobile operating systems. The goal is to ensure greater security and allow access to new features.

The same type of "purge" is planned for iPhones, which will be affected starting in November. This means millions of users worldwide could lose access to the world's most popular messaging application.
