Ronald Koeman Jr., son of former defender and coach Ronald Koeman, experienced an unusual moment in Dutch football. At 31 years old, the goalkeeper scored two penalty goals in Telstar's 2-2 draw with Cambuur in the Eredivisie on Sunday, securing the equalizer for the home team.
The first goal was scored at the 18th minute of the second half, when his team was already down 2-0. The second, however, had even more dramatic circumstances. With Telstar trailing 2-1, Koeman Jr. took responsibility for the kick and converted the penalty at the 101st minute of the second half, securing the draw for the team.
The match became complicated for Telstar early in the first half. The team had a player sent off at the 22nd minute and, despite being down a man, managed to react after conceding two goals in the second half.
This was not the first time Koeman Jr. was Telstar's hero. In May, the goalkeeper had already been the Dutch club's protagonist by scoring a penalty goal that secured the team's victory.
