A 64-year-old woman died on Saturday after being struck by a bull during the race of the patron saint festivities in Ayna, in Albacete, Spain. The incident was recorded on video and later shared on social media.
The images show the elderly woman outside the available protection barriers along the path taken by the bulls. People who were in the protected area, located outside the animals' route, appear to call the woman to come up and move away from the approaching bulls.
The woman made a movement with her left arm, apparently trying to ward off the animals. However, her reaction was to leave the location in the opposite direction from the bulls, without entering the protection structure. At least five bulls were close to her at the time of the accident.
