More than 3,400 farmers from Castellón will receive almost 2.4 million in subsidies to purchase fertilizers

More than 3,400 farmers from the province of Castellón began receiving, since last Friday, aid for the purchase of fertilizers totaling 2,396,366 euros. The exact number of beneficiaries is 3,418 farmers and farmworkers.

These aids are provided for in Article 50 of Royal Decree-Law 7/2026, of March 20, included in the Comprehensive Response Plan to the Middle East Crisis. The total national subsidy amounts to 700 million euros.

The beneficiaries can check the subsidy amounts on the website of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA). This is a first list of beneficiaries who already have access to this information.

The National Association of Passenger Transport (ANTROP) warned that the end of extraordinary fuel support puts the continuity of road public transport at risk, estimating an impact of 15 million euros in the sector between July and September. According to ANTROP, the increase of about 0.289 euros per liter in diesel compared to the pre-crisis level translates into significant financial burden. The association recalls that the 74 member companies are bound by public service contracts that prevent immediate reflection of increases in fares, warning that the lack of compensation may compromise the economic viability of companies and compliance with contracted services.
