AEP – Association of Portuguese Businesses is organizing, between September 9 and 11, the participation of six Portuguese companies in the 16th edition of Medical Fair Asia, in Singapore, under the BOW – Business on the Way internationalization project. This is the second participation of AEP in this fair, after a first presence organized in 2024, fitting into a strategy of continued approach to the Singapore market that began in 2007.
Singapore combines a highly developed healthcare system with a strong focus on innovation and an economy that is particularly open to the outside world. The country is developing a strategy for transforming the sector based on the expansion and modernization of hospital infrastructure, the adoption of new technologies, prevention, and response to the challenges of an aging population. Additionally, it serves as one of the main logistical and commercial hubs in the region, acting as a platform for access to other Asian markets.
Luís Miguel Ribeiro, president of the Board of Directors of AEP, states that participation in Medical Fair Asia represents a commitment to bringing Portuguese companies closer to markets with high growth potential, allowing them to identify new business opportunities and reinforce the visibility of the national offering among buyers, distributors, and international partners.
Medical Fair Asia is considered one of the main international business platforms for the medicine and healthcare sectors in Southeast Asia, dedicated to hospital equipment, diagnostics, pharmaceutical products, medical devices, and rehabilitation solutions. For the 2026 edition, more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 60 countries and approximately 14,000 professional visitors from more than 80 countries are expected, with more than 40% coming from outside Singapore.
