From last week, Londoners can already call a robotaxi through the Uber app. It is the first time this service is available in the British capital, thanks to a partnership with a technology company specialized in autonomous vehicles.
Despite being designated as robotaxis, these vehicles are not yet fully autonomous. A "driver" remains on board during trips, possibly for safety or regulatory reasons.
The expansion of this service to London marks a significant step in the implementation of autonomous vehicles in the United Kingdom, positioning the city as a pioneer in the adoption of this transportation technology.
