Ponte da Barca hosted another edition of the Senior Olympics of Alto Minho, an event that brought great excitement to the municipality over several days. The initiative brought together senior athletes from all municipalities in the region, as well as APPACDM – delegation of Ponte da Barca, in an atmosphere dedicated to healthy competition, fellowship and friendship.
During the event, competitions were held in various sports modalities, including football, basketball, volleyball, boccia, malha and petanque. The program was not limited to the competitive component, also including moments of fellowship among participants.
In the competitive aspect, after the various modalities were contested, it was Viana do Castelo that finished in first place in the final ranking of the Olympics.
The Senior Olympics are part of the Olympics4All project, which aims to promote active and healthy aging, encouraging the participation of seniors in community life through sport, culture and fellowship. The event was organized by the Municipality of Ponte da Barca.
