The agrarian organization La Unió Llauradora placed the Valencian olive sector on alert due to the negative evolution of olive oil prices. The entity expressed its concern faced with this situation that is affecting the Spanish olive market.
The organization warns that this downward trend in prices could reach Valencian producers even before the start of the next harvest campaign. In the Valencian Community, the olive harvest does not become general until late September.
According to La Unió, the effects of the price drop should be felt mainly during the months following the start of the harvest campaign, directly affecting olive growers in the region.
The agricultural entity calls for producers to be attentive to this scenario of instability in olive oil prices, which threatens to compromise the profitability of Valencian olive farms.
