Portugal is currently the most successful economy in Europe, in a trend that should continue next year, according to Burkhard Varnholt, senior consultant for financial markets at UBS Global Wealth. The specialist acknowledges that there is a lot the world can learn from Portugal, both economically and geopolitically. In the global geopolitical sphere, Varnholt considers that there are lessons that can be drawn from Portuguese history. The comment comes in the context of a positive assessment of Portugal's economic performance compared to the rest of Europe.

The National Association of Passenger Transport (ANTROP) warned that the end of extraordinary fuel support puts the continuity of road public transport at risk, estimating an impact of 15 million euros in the sector between July and September. The association recalls that the 74 member companies are bound by public service contracts that prevent immediate reflection of increases in fares, warning that the lack of compensation may compromise the economic viability of companies and compliance with contracted services.
