The Euribor rate rose again, with the most used rate in mortgage lending reaching a new high since 2024. This growth trend directly affects borrowers with housing credit contracts indexed to the Euribor.
The rate in question, which serves as a reference for the majority of housing loans in Portugal and the euro area, has been increasing consistently in recent months, reflecting current monetary conditions.
This upward movement contrasts with previous periods when rates remained stable or declining, representing a significant change for homeowners with mortgage debt.
However, among the various Euribor rates calculated, only one of them recorded a decline, which indicates that the general trend of the index continues to be growth.
