An explosion occurred this Monday morning at a chemical laboratory at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) in Tarragona, Spain. Seven units of the Bombers of the Generalitat de Catalunya were activated to respond to the emergency.
According to preliminary information from the Emergency Medical Service (SEM), three people were injured as a result of the explosion. EL PERIÓDICO managed to confirm that the deflagration was caused by nitric acid.
The emergency teams went to the site to control the situation and assist the victims. The authorities are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the explosion at the university laboratory.
