Repórter SÁBADO managed to infiltrate a network aiding illegal immigration operating in Portugal. The journalistic investigation revealed how this human trafficking network works in the country.
The ringleaders of the organization are Guinean citizens who act as intermediaries in the fraudulent scheme. These individuals manage to bribe business owners participating in a specific government program.
The program in question allows the obtaining of work visas in just 20 days, which makes the process attractive to fraudsters. Through fictitious employment contracts, immigrants manage to legalize their situation in Portugal.
For each false employment contract, 1,500 euros in cash are paid to the business owners involved in the scheme. Repórter SÁBADO managed to document the entire corruption operation.
