Mozambique provided assistance to 810 thousand victims of natural disasters. The majority of people supported by the Mozambican Executive were affected by floods, which represent the main cause of emergency situations in the country.
Government support included food distribution as part of the relief measures for the affected populations. Additionally, healthcare was also provided to the displaced and victims of the disasters.
This action by the Mozambican government falls within the context of the frequent natural disasters that plague the country, particularly during the rainy season, when floods cause large displacements of populations and urgent humanitarian needs.
