The former president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, defended this Monday that the Spanish Executive should "repeal" the immigration law to resolve the migratory crisis in Ceuta. According to the popular party leader, this would be the only solution needed to return the migrants to Morocco.
The former president indicated that Morocco has shown willingness to accept back all migrants, but that for this to be possible, the current legal procedures need to be eliminated. Aguirre warned that if these measures are not taken, the situation will end up favoring the far right.
As an example, Aguirre mentioned Saxony, where she stated that the far right ended up winning, suggesting that the same situation could repeat itself in Spain if rapid action is not taken to control the migratory flow.
The crisis in Ceuta, a Spanish city on African soil, has generated tensions between Spain and Morocco in recent times, prompting this type of proposals from Spanish political figures.
