The Ministry of Justice began a new operating cycle with the swearing-in of 107 new Registrars of the Institute of Registries and Notary Services (IRN). The ceremony, which marks a significant renewal in registry services, took place alongside the approval of measures for the valorization of Registry careers, approved by the Council of Ministers.
The Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, highlighted the importance of this inclusion, stating that these new professionals represent essential generational renewal and meet an old need of the IRN. The initiative aims to strengthen services throughout the country, including regions with low population density, covering districts such as Castelo Branco, Guarda, Viseu, and Coimbra.
In addition to the 107 Registrars already sworn in, another 30 are currently in training, with a projected total of approximately 137 new professionals by 2027. The recovery plan has already demonstrated concrete results, with the resolution of over 26,000 pending cases. The measure aims to promote legal certainty and transparency in relations between citizens and the State.
The new legislation also includes the valorization of Registry Officials' careers, covering over 3,000 professionals. The measures aim to correct salary inequalities and improve talent attraction and retention in the sector, ensuring that these careers are dignified and held in high esteem within the public service.
