Euronews Portugal7 September 2026 at 09:23

Around thirty migrants were intercepted in Melilla as they tried to reach the Iberian Peninsula hidden in fairground trucks. Local authorities proceeded with the detention of the migrants following the inspection of the vehicles. Melilla, as a Spanish enclave in North Africa, is frequently targeted by attempts at irregular crossing to European territory. The incident underscores the constant attempts at irregular migration involving crossings at Spanish borders in African territory.
