The volcano Anak Krakatau, located in Indonesia, erupted on Saturday. The eruption caused the suspension of air traffic in the region, significantly affecting the travel of thousands of people.
As a result of the suspension, 1,558 flights were delayed, leaving approximately 170 thousand passengers stranded. The situation caused major inconvenience to travelers trying to cross Indonesian airspace.
Four airports remain closed due to the volcanic eruption. Authorities continue to monitor the situation while Anak Krakatau remains active.
