Elaine Torres is a Brazilian woman who has been living in Portugal since 2023 and managed to achieve the dream of opening her own beauty salon. The establishment is located in Amadora, a city that is part of the Lisbon metropolitan area.

According to the Brazilian woman, the biggest obstacle to entrepreneurship in the European country is the high value of commercial property rents. Despite financial difficulties, she decided not to give up and to move forward with her own business.

Elaine's decision to open a salon in Portugal reflects a growing movement of Brazilians who seek opportunities abroad, even facing challenges such as the high cost of living in European cities. Her story shows how many immigrants choose entrepreneurship as a way to establish themselves in a new country.

The association recalls that the 74 member companies are bound by public service contracts that prevent immediate reflection of increases in fares, warning that the lack of compensation may compromise the economic viability of companies and compliance with contracted services.
