"Cinto-me Vivo": PSP and GNR with Traffic Enforcement Campaign on the Roads Starting Tuesday

PSP and GNR will reinforce enforcement of seatbelt use, child restraint systems and helmet use between September 8th and 14th. This action is part of the "Cinto-me Vivo" campaign, promoted jointly with the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR).

The objective of the campaign is to alert drivers to behaviors that can make the difference between life and death in case of a road accident. The intensified enforcement covers three main areas: seatbelt use, the use of child restraint systems and helmet use.

This initiative has the collaboration of the three security forces mentioned, which will carry out joint operations on Portuguese roads during the indicated period. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of these safety equipment.

Statistics reveal that, between 2021 and 2024, more than 8,200 passengers without adequate restraint were involved in accidents, resulting in 274 seriously injured and 69 dead. Authorities warn that the correct use of these devices can significantly reduce the risk of death or serious injury.
