Fire on pallet mobilizes firefighters

A pallet ablaze by the roadside mobilized the Funchal Professional Firefighters on Sunday night into Monday on Caminho da Fundoa. The alert was received at approximately 11:45 PM, when the situation threatened to spread to a scrubland area in the vicinity.

At the scene, eight firefighters supported by two vehicles managed to control the fire before it could spread to the vegetation. The rapid intervention of the operatives prevented any greater consequences.

Fortunately, no injuries or significant damage were reported as a result of this incident.
