Israeli attacks on Lebanon kill 11 people on Monday morning; at least two are babies

New Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon left 11 dead on Monday morning (7), at least two of them babies, according to Lebanese state media. The offensive came just one day after a previous escalation that resulted in seven dead. Nine people died in one of the attacks that destroyed a three-story residential building in Kfar Rumman, according to the NNA news agency. The other two fatal victims were rescuers whose car was targeted by Israeli forces.

The Israeli Army had ordered the evacuation of residents from Deir Zahrani, an area located about 9 km from strategic Mount Ali Taher, before the start of bombings with explosive drones. There is no information on injured Israeli soldiers.

Due to the escalation of violence recorded this weekend, Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun asked the United States and the international community to help stop Israel's attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces announced at the beginning of this Sunday (6) operations in the region, continuing the escalation of violence between the two countries.

Secondary school completion rate is lowest in Lisbon, Setúbal and Algarve
