The Mira Wind Project will be located less than 9 kilometres from three protected areas, according to the Environmental Impact Study currently in public consultation. The project, promoted by Galp, is located in the municipalities of Ourique and Odemira, in the district of Beja.
The plan includes the installation of 22 wind turbines, which will operate in hybridisation with a photovoltaic plant. This combination of wind and solar energy allows for the optimisation of electricity production at the same location.
The Environmental Impact Study is currently in public consultation, running until 24 September. During this period, interested parties may submit their observations and comments on the document.
