At Hospital D. Estefânia, several anesthesiologists resigned from the operating theatre last Friday, allegedly due to the lack of professionals in the work schedules.

This situation at Hospital D. Estefânia occurs within the context of a broader human resources crisis in the SNS, which faces significant difficulties in maintaining complete teams in its units.

In response to this shortage, the opening of the highest number of vacancies for anesthesiologists ever is planned, in an attempt to fill the existing gaps in the public health system.
