Scottish DJ Calvin Harris was the main act at Rock in Rio's Mundo Stage, commanding a performance for a crowd of fans who ignored the rain, wind, and cold to be present at the festival. The event took place in a structure compared to a giant open-air nightclub.
Harris started his set shortly after midnight, playing with loud sound, flames, images of himself alternated with images of the crowd. Being alone at his DJ booth surrounded by lights, he energized the audience with gestures and clichéd phrases, but in a sincere way.
Among the hits performed were "Sweet Nothing," his creation in partnership with singer Florence Welch, from Florence + The Machine, as well as "Outside" with Ellie Goulding and "One Kiss." Music was the central element of the show, with tracks capable of making the audience move.
